Pond - in June

It's late June and summer is finally here!

As the photos show, the plants around the pond have gone barmy. The grasses at the far end are now about 4 feet high, whilst the grass behind the pond has started to spill over into the water. Both need pruning to keep them in check. The filter box has long disappeared into the undergrowth.

In the water, there is little sign of blanket weed thanks to the barley straw, and the filter is doing a grand job of keeping the water clear. Pump cleaning is now 3-4 weeks. The fish are happy and appear, unfortunately, to be breeding again.

Unfortunately, the growth of the grasses and lily have rendered the waterfall to an almost useless trickle that makes practically no sound at all.
