Cats - Pond - Sea Monkeys - Hamster Aquarium Now in its 9th year, the aquarium is still going strong.
There were some comings and goings in the aquarium in February '01. Departures from this life have been one of the catfish and the Java Ferns. Whilst the latter was beyond rescue, the Java Ferns will hopefully come back: apparently they go through cycles of dying back and then regrowing. On a more positive note, we splashed out on some new fish - a replacement catfish, some new baby Serpae Tetras and some Silver Point Tetras. We also got three new Ottos to get to work on the algae. Speaking of algae, this has been rampant and getting steadily worse. We're now trying some Protalon-707 which should get rid of all the algae, especially the scummy stuff that floats on the surface of the water. March update: The Proalon-707 is the business! Combined with the Ottos, the algae is well under control.
