Full house as pupils learn about past

There are five new des-res homes in our village but they are not for sale.

The mini-mansions were created by pupils at the village school as part of their national curriculum work on the Tudors.

Inspired by a visit to Kentwell Hall at Long Melford, year three and four pupils build their own versions of Tudor houses with timber frames, wattle and daub walls and thatched roofs - all perfect models of houses from the period.

Headteacher at the 66-pupil school, Ian Pollard, said design and technology had also been included in the house building project which had taken half a term to complete.

"The children have had a whale of a time making them and achieved a fantastic standard. They are terribly proud of their houses.

"It's been a long project but they have maintained their enthusiasm all the way through and that's important" said Mr Pollard.
