On Thursday the 4th April we went to London to go on the London Eye and
see the London Aquarium. We got up at 8:20 to catch the train into London.
We got breakfast from a croissant shop and a coffee shop called Costa.
Dad
had a cheese and bacon croissant and a mocha, Mum had a apple jalousie
and some hot chocolate, I had a apple jalousie and some hot chocolate,
(but I spilt most of it down my front). Daniel had a pain au chocolate
and some hot chocolate, Jon had a cheese pastie and a bottle of orange
juice, Bob had the same. All of it was delicious!
 After
breakfast we went to a tube station to catch a Circle Line to take us
to Westminster. We walked over Westminster Bridge, and saw Big Ben.
We went to get our tickets for the London Eye. After that
we went into the London Aquarium and got tickets. there were fish swimming
around inside a real car!
The
Aquarium was really cool, after we paid we walked down a passage and saw
some riverfish there was a massive Pike some Barbels and Roaches. the
river tanks were set like a real river the first tank had a waterfall
going into the second tank, and the second tank had a waterfall going
into the third tank etc.
On the other side of the river tanks there was a wall covered with facts
about the River Thames, there was a picture of what would happen if the
River Thames flooded.
The
Atlantic tank was massive, there were conger eels, rays and some fish.
It was such a big tank that there were places to look in at the bottom
as well as all around the top. The eels didn't do much swimming they just
lay down on big rocks. the rays were a brownish colour and swam really
close to the bottom.
 After
the Atlantic tank we went to the Pacific tank it was massive as well.
The sharks were really big, there were some huge silver fish with yellow
eyes. There were also some rays. I kept on pulling funny faces at the
sharks which made them come closer so Dad could take photos of them. This
yellow ray kind of fish with black spots swam right across Daniel's face,
startling him.
 Next
we went to a bit about coral, there were these amazingly bright coloured
fish swimming around. We saw some Spotted Garden eels that were sticking
out of the sand. They looked funny, I liked them.
There
were some stonefish that looked exactly like stones. Me and Daniel had
fun trying to see which ones were stonefish and which weren't. Their eyes
gave them away a bit, if they shut they would look like perfect stones.
The cuttlefish also camouflaged themselves to match their surroundings.
There was one swimming next to a piece of rock and it had turned itself
completely brown.
 I
went over to another tank it had these fish in it that looked like lobsters
Dan came over and said they were crawfish, they were massive! There were
some clownfish in different colours and some tiny brown seahorses.
We
walked over to a big circular tank next, it was really dark. There were
some jelliefish inside they seemed to be glowing. A tentacle was floating
on the water.
Next we went to a tropical bit there were plants growing on the walls
and loads of brightly coloured fish like tetras. Dad thought the Archer
fish were amazing, I did too.
We
walked down some steps through a passage into a room there was a tank
in the middle and people (mostly children) were stroking the rays. I wanted
to stroke them too me and Dan both stroked them and said they felt slimy
but nice.
We went to the shop next, I got a dolphin ornament, Dan got a fish ornament,
Jon got a window sticker and so did Bob.
 After
we had came out of the Aquarium, all us kids had an ice cream and everyone
had a drink. Mum and Dad had a lager, I had lemonade, Kim and Bob had
orange juice and Jon had coke. Me and Kim had mint choc chip, Bob had
a strawberry which went everywhere and Jon had chocolate. We put two tables
together to fit us all.
After lunch we went to queue up for the London Eye. I met a boy called
Jack who had almost the same t-shirt as me. We slid along the marble bench
to skip the queue, we met our parents at the end. We went on the same
gondoler (carridge things) as Jack.

We were given a leaflet with pictures you could pull out. I saw Big Ben,
St. Pauls, lots of sky srapers and where we started to queue up. When
we were almost round to the begining there was a camera on the spiral
staircase. When we were off we went to get our photo.

We caught the two trains home but we had to stand nearly all the way
back to Elsenham, we got in to our car and went to Welcome Break and went
home with a Kentucky and six easter eggs one for each of us.
